Man dumps trailer of waste on road side

Durham Police officers from the East Division have laid numerous charges after patrolling several green spaces and parks in Clarington.

In one incident, officers located a 36-year-old Whitby male dumping a trailer-load of drywall garbage on the side of the road. The driver was issued four Provincial Offences Notices including: Failing to Surrender Insurance Card; No Permit on Trailer; No Red Rear Light on Trailer and Deposit Waste on Roadway.

Over the past months, covered the area of Boundary Road and Cochrane Road. Numerous complaints had been received from community members regarding illegal dumping, illegal fires, trespassers on ATV’s and other public nuisances, said a police statement.

Members of East Division utilized ATVs, foot patrols and the use of Air1 to patrol these parks and as a result have laid 62 Provincial Offences Notices for various issues including, Highway Traffic Act, Off-Road Vehicles Act, Trespass to Property and Municipal By-laws.
