Thief breaks in, steals, flees on bike

On November 6 at 4 am, a suspect entered an apartment on Marland Avenue in Oshawa by the rear door and stole several tools from within.

The suspect had a black mountain bike with him and left the scene shortly after, police said while asking for public’s help in solving the case.

The suspect is described as male, white, 30’s, black jacket, white t-shirt, red shorts, blue bandana, white shoes, noticeable tattoos on both legs. He had a black bike.

Shotgun seized during search

Investigators from the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Bureau seized a sawed-off shotgun and three imitation firearms during a search warrant in Oshawa.

On November 30, members of Central East Division responded to a residence on Malaga Road in Oshawa after a disturbance report. Information was that a firearm was seen in the home. Officers responded quickly and contained the home. Numerous occupants exited the home and two parties were placed in custody. A search warrant was executed later that evening and officers seized a sawed-off shotgun and three imitation firearms from inside the residence.

Nicholas Robbins, age 28 and Darryl Heather, age 34, both of No Fixed Address are facing a combined 46 charges including: Weapons Dangerous; Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Readily Accessible Ammunition; Contravention of Storage Regulations; Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession is Unauthorized and Careless Storage of a Firearm; Breach Prohibition Order Imposed at Sentencing andBreach Probation.

They were held for bail hearings.
