Man had to be extricated from vehicle after crash

A 34-year-old male was seriously injured after being involved in a motor vehicle collision in Whitby on Thursday morning.

On March 18, 2021 at around 9:40 am., members of Central West Division, were called to Lake Ridge Road South and Dundas Street West in Whitby for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving four vehicles.

The motor vehicle operated by the 34-year-old male incurred severe damage after the collision. Emergency Services attended the scene and extricated the male from the vehicle. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to a trauma hospital in Toronto where he remains in stable condition. He was the lone occupant in the vehicle, police said.

Two drivers from the other motor vehicles reported minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
