Durham police yesterday said a pedestrian has suffered serious injuries following a single vehicle collision in Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.
A Chevrolet pick-up truck was parked near the Montana’s restaurant when a male approached the vehicle and started an altercation. The pick-up truck attempted to leave the area; however, the pedestrian held onto the driver’s door handle and subsequently fell.
As a result of the collision, the male pedestrian was transported to a local-area hospital and later to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and co-operated with police.
The incident took place on Friday, June 5 at about 12:25 pm, when members of East Division responded to a pedestrian involved collision in the parking lot of 2340 Regional Highway 2.
Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. This collision is still under investigation.
