Man who stole scratch tickets, cigarettes held in-store

Durham Police said a 37-year-old male was arrested on Monday after threatening a convenience store employee and stealing scratch tickets and cigarettes.

On October 12 at about 4:10 am, officers were called to the Circle K convenience store on King Street East in Oshawa regarding a robbery. A 37-year-old male entered the store, threatened the employee and proceeded to grab lottery tickets and cigarettes. Officers arrested the male inside the store. A search of the male resulted in the discovery of two folding knives. The employee was not physically injured, police said

Chad Hobbs of No Fixed Address (Oshawa) has been charged with: Robbery with Offensive Weapon; Fail to Comply with Probation Order x3; and Possess Weapons Dangerous to Public Peace. He was held for a bail hearing.
