Durham Police investigators have charged a 22-year-old suspect after a sexual assault in Pickering over the weekend.
On Saturday, October 12 at 7:15 pm, members of West Division responded to the area of Bayly Street just east of Liverpool Road in Pickering. The victim was walking on a pathway after exiting the Pickering GO station when she was followed by the unknown suspect. The suspect confronted her, grabbed her and touched her inappropriately. The victim was able to run away and contacted police right away. Police searched the area with negative results.
Investigators looked into nearby video surveillance and were able to identify the suspect who was arrested a few hours later.
Jevon White, age 22, of Pickering has been charged with Sexual Assault and Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
