Mugger asks for cash before stabbing victim

Durham Police said a 54-year-old male was stabbed in Whitby on Monday evening.

On November 8, at about 5:45 pm, members from Central West Division were called to a plaza at Kendalwood Road and Dundas Street East for reports of a stabbing. The suspect approached the victim and made a demand for cash before stabbing him. Officers arrived and located a victim suffering from non-life threatening injuries, said a police statement.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and then to a Toronto-area trauma centre. Police searched the immediate area with negative results.

The suspect is described as male, White, approximately 25 years old, 5’11’ tall, slender build, short brown hair, he was wearing a black surgical mask, grey-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and was unkept in appearance.
