The Municipality of Clarington has announced new developments in Courtice.
“The transit-oriented neighbourhoods proposed by the Southeast Courtice Secondary Plan will include a diverse range of housing located within walking distance to shopping, services, schools and amenities, it said.
The plan will include a variety of densities and mix of uses along Bloor Street and Courtice Road. A linked system of parks and trails will support ease of pedestrian movement throughout the area. This plan includes the tributaries of the Robinson and Tooley Creeks. As a result, the plan has been designed with the preservation of the natural heritage system as a priority, said a municipal statement.
It said after extensive consultation, the municipality is ready to present the draft Southeast Courtice Secondary Plan at a Statutory Public Meeting.
“We are also seeking your input on the Urban Design and Sustainability Guidelines that have been prepared to advance the vision of this plan. A subsequent phase of the process will involve the preparation of zoning regulations. This will be followed by development applications.”
