New Durham covid cases drop down to 32

Durham Health yesterday posted 32 new Covid-19 cases for February 7, taking the region’s tally to 11,098 since the count began on February 29.

There were:

  • 10 new cases in Pickering
  • 7 in Ajax
  • 2 in Whitby
  • 10 in Oshawa
  • 5 in Clarington, and
  • 2 each in Uxbridge and Scugog

Recoveries stand at 10,492, up by 71. There are 319 active covid cases.

Twenty-eight cases are hospitalized with 13 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 291 people in home isolation.

Durham Health reported the highest number of cases so far at 3,238 in Ajax.

Death Toll: Total – 287              LTCH – 215

Of the 98 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH
Of the 49 reported deaths in Ajax, 33 were in LTCH
Forty-four deaths were reported in Whitby, 30 in LTCH
Of the 46 reported deaths in Oshawa, 34 were in LTCH
Twelve deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH]
24 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 20 in LTCH
Fourteen deaths have been reported in Scugog, 12 in LTCH
No deaths have been reported in Brock
