Have your say on Liberty Street reconstruction

Durham Region is proposing the reconstruction and intersection improvements on Liberty Street in Bowmanville, including a new roundabout at Concession Road 3.

Residents are invited to share feedback on this project by February 15.

To improve safety and address traffic needs, Durham Region is proposing to reconstruct Liberty Street (Regional Road 14) from Longworth Avenue to Concession Road 3, in the Municipality of Clarington, said a municipal statement.

The Liberty Street and Concession Road 3 intersection is proposed to be reconstructed as a roundabout.

A new traffic signal is proposed at the Liberty Street and Bons Avenue/Freeland Avenue intersection.

Liberty Street from Longworth Avenue to Concession Road 3 will be rehabilitated and urbanized with curb and gutter, storm sewers, underground services, street lighting and sidewalks.

Provisions for cycling facility, in partnership with the Municipality of Clarington, are being considered for this section of Liberty Street.
