Even though four homes were damaged in a fire at Buggey Lane in North Ajax yesterday, no one was hurt, according to Ajax officials.
“AjaxFire Update: structure fire on Buggey Lane has been brought under control. No reported injuries to residents or fire staff. Crews remain on scene and Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office has been called in to investigate. Thank you to Pickering and Whitby fire for the assistance,” said an Ajax Fire statement.
The town reported that four homes were involved. One command vehicle, 10 pumper engines and one aerial truck were brought in – apart from crews from Whitby and Pickering – to control the fire.
The cause of the fire will be determined by the Ontario Fire Marshall.
Durham Police and EMS were on the scene.
Police closed off Salem Road at Taunton and Pic Con Rd 5, and urged people to remain out of the area.
