Durham Region Health Department yesterday said 1,489 Covid-19 cases have been reported in the region since February 29. No new covid-related death was announced for the second day in a row.
The number of Covid-19 infections on Monday had stood at 1,472.
Of the total cases, 23 are hospitalized, of which 6 are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Deaths total 175, of which 149 were in long term care homes (LTCH). Recoveries number 1,160.
Durham Health yesterday updated the overall community-wide Covid breakdown. The highest number of cases at 512 were in Pickering followed by 387 in Ajax and 241 in Oshawa.
Death Toll: No new deaths
- Of the 88 reported deaths in Pickering, 86 were in LTCH – no change
- Of the 36 reported deaths in Ajax, 31 were in LTCH – no change
- Three deaths were reported in Whitby [none in LTCH] – no change
- Of the 23 reported deaths in Oshawa, 15 were in LTCH – no change
- Seven deaths were reported in Clarington [none in LTCH] – no change
- 18 deaths were reported in Uxbridge, 17 in LTCH – no change
- No deaths have been reported in Scugog – no change
- No deaths have been reported in Brock – no change
