Oshawa business owners charged with drug offences

Durham Police investigators have arrested two suspects and seized a quantity of cannabis and cash in relation to a drug investigation in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, December 21, members from the Central East Division Community Response Team, with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Unit and Central West Division Community Response Team, executed a search warrant at two businesses on John Street West in Oshawa, said a police statement.

During the search warrants executed at City Patties and Convenience Plus. Investigators seized a quantity of cash, more than 500 grams of cannabis and other drug paraphernalia. As a result, charges were laid against owners of both establishments.

Andre Rankine, age 36, of Grandview Street in Oshawa, and Nicole Teellucksingh, age 49, of Dunkirk Avenue in Oshawa were each charged with: Possess Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling and Sell Cannabis to an Adult. Andre Rankine was also charged with Posses Cannabis for the Purpose of Distributing and other tobacco-related charges.

They were both released on Undertakings.
