Oshawa man arrested in shooting investigation

Durham Police investigators have arrested a 28-year-old male and seized a rifle after concluding a shooting investigation from May.

On July 22, investigators from Central East Division executed a search warrant at a residential address in Oshawa and seized a Winchester rifle related to this investigation.

On Friday, October 16, the suspect was located by police in a vehicle in Oshawa. The suspect fled on foot and was arrested shortly after. The accused is known to the occupants of the residence and it appears to be an isolated incident, police said.

A 28-year-old male of No Fixed Address faces 15 criminal charges including: Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Crime; Carry Concealed Weapon; Careless Use of a Firearm and Possess Weapon for Committing an Offence. He was held for a bail hearing.
