Durham Police are looking for a suspect after a 23-year-old male was pistol whipped during a drug buy in Oshawa on Wednesday night.
On December 4 at 8:00 pm, members of Central East Division responded to the area of Oxford Street and Porter Street in Oshawa after reports of a gunshot. Police searched the area and located a possible scene. However, the victim and the suspect had fled, said a police media release.
The victim later showed up at Central East Division and advised that he was attempting to purchase drugs from the unknown suspect when an altercation occurred. The suspect was armed with a firearm and during the struggle a shot was fired. The victim was struck in the head with the gun and he suffered facial injuries, the release said.
Police are looking for the suspect, who is believed to have left in a dark vehicle. The suspect is described as male, white, in his late teens.
