Pickering Blooms is back again this summer

The Pickering Blooms Programs is back again inviting gardeners of all levels to showcase their horticultural accomplishments in a friendly virtual competition.

There are  two ways for residents to participate:

  • Garden Showcase – Participants will receive a Pickering Blooms Garden Showcase sign to display proudly in their front garden.
  • Garden of Distinction Contest – You have a garden you’re proud of with beautiful plants, landscaping, garden art or sustainable features. You would like to enter a community contest where Pickering residents can vote on their favourite images of gardens from around Pickering. Participants have the chance to win prizes, and be recognized as a Pickering Garden of Distinction.

Registration begins on Tuesday, June 14 at the Pickering Farmer’s Market where residents can register and have a chance to win a special prize.

When your garden is in full-bloom all that is required is that you post a picture of your work for judging.  All levels of gardening skills are welcome, said a city statement.
