Pickering’s Petapolooza outdoor pet festival is back

The City of Pickering has announced that Petapolooza, with presenting partner Pet Valu, is back on May 11 from 10 am to 5 pm at Esplanade Park.

Petapolooza has grown in the last few years to be one of the city’s largest outdoor events and gives attendees the opportunity to meet fellow pet owners/enthusiasts, industry professionals, and rescue groups, said a city statement.

There will be 70+ exhibitors, live entertainment courtesy of the SuperDogs and Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue. All day activities include lure course, pet tattoos, mini grooming sessions, caricature artist and more. Petapolooza offers interactive games and activities for the family.

Animal Services will be accepting voluntary $5 donations, with free admission for seniors 55+, children under 12, and pets upon entry. All donations will go towards the development of a new Animal Shelter in Pickering.

“Petapolooza is our biggest fundraiser of the year and last year we raised just over $30,000. This year we hope we can raise even more,” said Lindsey Narraway, Supervisor, Animal Services.
