Durham police have arrested a 63-year-old man following a suspicious interaction with three youth in a public washroom at Heydenshore Kiwanis Park in Whitby.
Officers from Central West Division responded to the park on Wednesday, July 9, after the youths reported being approached by the suspect.
According to police, the man spoke to the youth in the washroom and invited them to his vehicle. The youth immediately informed their parents, who contacted police.
The suspect fled in his vehicle before officers arrived but was located nearby and taken into custody without incident.
Police are concerned there may be additional victims and are urging anyone who had contact with the suspect to come forward.
A 63-year-old male, of Whitby, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
