Police ask for witnesses in 2018 Ajax shooting

Durham Police investigators are continuing to look for suspect(s) after a shooting incident in Ajax almost two years ago.

Investigators are hoping with the public’s assistance they could get some information that would help them identify the suspect(s) responsible for this shooting. The shooting left a 39-year-old innocent victim with serious injuries, police said.

On November 25, 2018, at approximately 9:10 pm, members of West Division responded to a residence on Hibbard Drive in Ajax for shots fired. Police located a 39-year-old male with life threatening injuries in his SUV. The male was taken to a Toronto-area trauma center with life-threatening injuries, said a police statement.

The statement did not mention if the victim survived.

Police found evidence of several shots fired and information from witnesses state a dark-coloured vehicle was seen driving away.

Police searched the area for the suspects with negative results. Investigators don’t believe that this is a random act, however it may have been a case of mistaken identity.

Police are looking for any witnesses to come forward with any information that may assist with identifying the suspect(s) and vehicle involved.
