Bomb threat was emailed to Port Perry school

Durham Police investigators are looking into a threat made towards the Port Perry High School and are looking for the public’s assistance in this investigation.

On Monday, November 9, at approximately 3 pm, school officials at Port Perry High School on Rose Street received emails of a threat towards the school. Although there were no students in the school at the time, staff members were evacuated and the school was checked by officers. The school was deemed safe and there was no evidence located of any threat. Nearby schools were placed into Hold and Secures and traffic in the area was affected. The investigation is ongoing and police would like to speak to anyone who has any information on this matter to call them, said a police statement.

Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to contact D/Cst. Burns of North Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2676.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
