Women hurt at crossing in stable condition

The two pedestrians who were struck by a car at a Bowmanville crossing, are in hospital in a stable condition, police said yesterday.

“The pedestrians were transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries where they remain in stable condition. The driver of the car, a 78-year-old female, was uninjured in the incident,” said a police statement.

The two pedestrians were struck while crossing the road at King Street and Temperance Street in Bowmanville on Friday, November 6 at 12:06 pm.

A 75-year-old female and a 52-year-old female were crossing King Street West at Temperance Street when they were struck by a grey Honda Civic, which was turning left onto King Street West from Temperance Street.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
