Two female pedestrians struck in Bowmanville

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said one woman was seriously injured after two pedestrians were struck at an intersection in Bowmanville.

Early afternoon sirens screamed along Highway 2 as cruisers rushed from the East Division headquarter to the scene of the incident.

King Street West was closed from Scugog Street to Division Street for a few hours as officers investigated the motor vehicle accident.

“This collision involves 2 female pedestrians struck at this intersection. One elderly female has serious injuries and we are waiting for an update from the scene. Traffic Services Branch have been advised,” said a police tweet.

No further details were made available till late last night.
