Police ask public to help locate car arsonist

Durham Police investigators are continuing to look for wanted James Allen who is alleged to have set a car on fire. They are asking for the assistance of the public to locate him.

A fire was reported on July 3 at 2 am at a residence on Ritson Road North and Beatrice Street East in Oshawa. Officers arrived to find a Chevrolet Cruze fully engulfed in flames. A second vehicle parked in the driveway had the front tire slashed. The occupants in the residence contacted Oshawa Fire Services who quickly put out the fire. There were no reported injuries.

An arrest warrant was issued for Allen but investigators have not been able to locate him.

Allen is wanted for Arson with Disregard for Human Life and Mischief Under $5000.

Investigators are asking Allen to contact a lawyer and turn himself in.
