Police called after man drops gun inside Walmart

Police were called to an Ajax store on Sunday after a gun was seen following a fight between two men.

On January 17 at about 3:45 pm, West Division officers were called to the Walmart location on Kingston Road in Ajax regarding a physical altercation inside the store involving two males. After the disturbance, witnesses reported seeing one of the males drop a handgun while he was leaving the store. He picked the gun up off the floor and left, said a police statement.

Further investigation revealed that the male with the gun ran into a wooded area north of the store. Officers searched the area and a K-9 Unit located a handgun. The male was not located. The second male involved in the fight was seen entering a white Honda CRV in the store’s parking lot, police said.

The relationship between the two males is unknown and they were not employees of the store.

Suspect #1, the male with the handgun, is described as Black, about 18-19 years of age and 5’11” tall, thin build with braided hair, wearing a grey-hooded sweater underneath a black waist length Canada Goose jacket with a fur hood, grey track pants and black and white running shoes.

Suspect #2, who got into the Honda, is described as Black, 18-19 years of age, between 5’7″- 5’10” tall, wearing a black Toronto Raptors sweater and black pants. Following the fight, he was observed changing into a black and white camo jacket.
