Porch pirate, others evade arrest… well, almost

Kudos to the Durham Police Service dogs, who in the past few days have helped nab at least four suspects.

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) East Division yesterday thanked PSD Rogue & PC King for assisting
in getting their man.

“An Armed Robbery Suspect ALMOST evaded arrest by hiding under a low porch. Police missed the concealed suspect during the first search but wisely asked PC Wayne King & K9 Rogue to do a secondary search! Rogue promptly located & extracted the Perp!” said a tweet.

“💥1 in Custody💥,” it added.

“Perimeter Officers located the Suspect as K9 Taz was closing in. The Suspect WISELY surrendered just before meeting K9 Taz,” it added.

DRPS East Division also reported a case when officers attempted to stop a Ford F-150 a few days ago overnight on Green Road in Clarington. That vehicle fled from officers. It was later found in a ditch.

The DRPS K9 unit tracked the 36-year-old male through dense brush and he was arrested and faces numerous charges, police said.
