Police catch break-and-enter suspect after foot pursuit

A 30-year-old suspect is facing charges after breaking into a home in Oshawa.

On Sunday, July 24 at about 12:30 am, members of Central East Division responded to a break and enter on Beatrice Street East.

A witness observed the suspect breaking into a home and contacted police. Officers arrived on scene and the suspect fled. A foot pursuit was initiated and the suspect was apprehended a short distance away, said a police statement.

No injuries occurred as the home owners were not present at the time.

Police would like to remind the public that if you see any suspicious behavior in your neighborhood to contact police immediately.
