Police look for witnesses after shots fired in Ajax

Durham Police are investigating shots being fired after a resident located a bullet hole in his vehicle in Ajax on Tuesday.

On November 26 at 4:30 pm., a citizen arrived at West Division to report damage after he located a bullet hole in his vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the area of Harwood Avenue North and Kerrison Drive West in Ajax, police said.

Members of West Division were called to the same area at approximately 3:10 am, on Tuesday for reports of gunshots but didn’t locate any evidence at that time. Police re-attended and located several shell casings close to where the unoccupied vehicle was found damaged. Investigators also located a garage door with a bullet hole through it, said a media release.

There are no reported injuries at this time, it added.

There is no suspect or vehicle descriptors at this time and investigators are looking for the public’s help with any information regarding this shooting. If you have surveillance video in this area, please contact our investigators.
