See Air1 night chase help police stop runaway driver

An Oshawa man is facing numerous charges after he attempted to flee from police in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday night.

On March 2 at about 11:23 pm, members of Central East Division observed a red Dodge Caravan in the area of Fundy Street and Quetico Court. The vehicle plates were confirmed as stolen. Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle however the driver fled and failed to stop for police. Officers terminated the pursuit due to public safety concerns, said a police statement.

Air1 was in the area and located the fleeing vehicle in the area of Bragg Road, north of Highway #2 in Clarington. The stolen vehicle was pulled over and police arrested the male driver and a female passenger, it added.

A 36-year-old male of Oshawa is facing 31 charges, including: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 x3; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000; Fail to Stop for Police – Pursuit; Procure to be Made, Possess, Transfer, Sell Identity Document of Another x10; Breach of Probation x9; Operation While Prohibited x3; Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Dangerous Operation. Held for a bail hearing.

A 31-year-old female, of Ajax is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000. Released on an Undertaking.
