Share your opinion on upcoming Pickering skate park

The City of Pickering is working on bringing the West Shore Skate Spot to life, and is encouraging members of the public to get involved.

The proposed skate spot will be located at 1011-1015 Bayly Street, adjacent to the West Shore Community Centre. The city identified the need for a new skate spot in 2017 through its Skateboard Park Strategy, and completed a comprehensive public consultation in Spring 2021 to seek key input from the community and stakeholder groups, said a statement.

At approximately 3,000 square feet, the skate spot will offer a combination of features to enjoy, specifically tailored to the conditions of the site.

As part of the design process, the city is inviting the community to share their thoughts on the concept plans, which will help inform the final skate spot design.

Visit LetsTalkPickering.ca/SkateSpot to learn more about the project and complete the survey. Provide feedback on the proposed skate spot features, comment on other amenities that should be considered, and more (survey closes March 23, 2022).

Once the survey closes, a revised skate spot concept will be prepared (based on the feedback received) and posted to the project page, along with a summary of the results.
