Stabbing at faith centre sends victim to trauma centre

Durham police said a man is facing several charges after stabbing another man in Ajax.

On Friday, February 20 around 5:55 am, members of West Division responded to an armed person call at the Christian Faith Outreach Centre located at 158 Harwood Avenue South.

Two men were involved in a verbal altercation when one of the men brandished an edged weapon and stabbed the other man.

Officers arrived on scene and located the victim. He was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. The suspect suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local-area hospital.

The 33 year old suspect of no fixed address was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
