How is my driving, asks speeding van driver

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday caught a speeding driver with a ironic slogan at the back of his van.

“I gotta be honest… it’s not the best. Heavy rain, slick roads and high speeds equal tragedy or police intervention,” said a tweet from an officer.

In this case, the tragedy was avoided and enforcement conducted.

Officers were monitoring traffic on Lake Ridge Road and Highway 407 in the Town of Whitby.

Meanwhile, DRPS Traffic Services reminded drivers that stop signs are not mere suggestions.

“You must come to a complete stop prior to proceeding,” said a tweet.

It warned motorists that officers were in community safety zones across the region ensuring compliance.

DRPS said Altona and Taunton Road in the City of Pickering is a high collision intersection.

“This driver (below) drew my attention by following too close and then passing,” said a tweet adding reminding that the roads were wet with rain.

Charges were laid.

A motor vehicle collision occurred and I’m happy to report no injuries. Special shout out to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), said a tweet from the officer.
