Durham police yesterday said a youth is facing charges after brandishing an imitation firearm and making threats in a classroom at a Secondary School in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, April 14, a student at a secondary school in the area of Harmony Road North and Coldstream Drive brandished a firearm during class and made threats to fellow students.
On Wednesday, April 15, after further investigation, the youth surrendered themself to investigators at East Division. Officers seized the imitation firearm used during the incident.
A 14-year-old from Oshawa was charged with: Possess Weapon Dangerous, and Uttering Threats. They were released on an undertaking.

Wanted Man With Weapons Ban Found With Gun
A wanted male who was arrested by the DRPS Gun and Gang Unit is facing further charges following a firearm investigation in Ajax.
On Friday, April 17, members of the Gun and Gang Unit completed an investigation into a male who was believed to be in possession of a firearm and wanted on assault and break-and-enter charges.
Investigators located the suspect in Ajax and took him into custody without incident. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Ajax, where officers seized a loaded firearm with an overcapacity magazine and ammunition.
At the time of his arrest, the accused was on a weapons prohibition.
The suspect, age 40 from Ajax, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
