A man who hung from an 8th floor window held only by security personnel, was safely rescued in an efficient operation by Toronto Police Service (TPS) yesterday.

Explaining the operation, TPS Chief James Ramer, said the 53rd Division attended to a Person in Crisis call yesterday.

A man hanging out an 8th floor window, was being held by onsite security,’ he said in a tweet.

TPS officers took over and held him for 12 minutes, rescuing him by breaking windows and pulling him to safety. The man was taken to hospital to get the help he needs, said Chief Ramer.

He said Toronto Police officers were treated and released for minor injuries.

“All Toronto Police officers are trained for dynamic emergency calls and to save lives. I’m extremely proud of their bravery. We couldn’t have done this without the help of onsite security, thank you for your assistance,” said Chief Ramer.
