Waterfront parking free for Ajacians – others pay $20

From May 15 to September 15, 2021, a parking management plan will be in effect in the Ajax Waterfront area. This allows free parking to registered town residents, while others will be charged. Registration for Ajax residents is online and free.

The plan aims to manage increased parking demand on weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and public holidays. It includes paid parking for non-residents and designated parking areas including six waterfront parking lots and signed streets. To get started, By-Law Services will be focusing on education and awareness, enforcement will begin after the May long weekend, said a town announcement.

Resident Waterfront Parking: Ajax residents can park for free at designated parking areas by registering their license plates online:

  • To register, visit ajax.ca/register
  • Residents must provide proof of address (for example, a tax bill)
  • Only valid once approved by By-Law Services. Email confirmation sent within 24 hours
  • Print and display not required, plate is registered electronically
  • Park for free in the designated parking areas for the 2021 season
  • Residents must register annually to confirm address

Visitor Paid Parking: Visitors (non-residents) must pay online to park at designated parking areas:

  • Pay at ajax.ca/parkandpay
  • $20 per visit. Valid until 9 pm the same day
  • Park in the designated paid parking areas
  • Print and display not required, plate is registered electronically
  • $60 parking ticket for violations

Paradise Beach Resident Parking: Only residents living in the Paradise Beach area can park their registered vehicle on streets signed “No Parking – Registered Local Residents Parking Only” on weekends and public holidays.

  • To register, visit ajax.ca/register
  • Limit of 1 vehicle per household
  • Residents must provide proof of address (for example, a tax bill)
  • Only valid once approved by By-Law Services. Email confirmation sent within 24 hours
  • Print and display not required, plate is registered electronically
  • Park for free in the designated parking areas for the 2021 season
  • Residents must register annually to confirm address
