Durham Police said two males are facing charges after a stabbing near a skatepark in Oshawa.
On Tuesday, November 12, at about 5:05 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a stabbing near a skatepark, located in the area of Nonquon Road and Mary Street North.
Two males physically assaulted and stabbed another male following a verbal altercation, before fleeing the area. Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, searched the area and located both suspects a short distance away, hiding in an apartment complex stairwell. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
The victim suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. His condition has since been upgraded to stable, said police.
An 18-year-old male from Oshawa and a 17-year-old male of No Fixed Address were both charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
