Durham Police are looking to identify a suspect involved in two separate assaults on the GO Train Monday evening.
On Monday, November 11, around 7:40 pm, West Division officers responded to a report of an assault at Pickering GO Station, located at 1322 Bayly Street in Pickering. A woman was riding the 6:50 pm eastbound train from Union Station when she was assaulted by the suspect. The suspect punched the victim multiple times in the face and then fled the train. The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Two hours later, at about 9:20 pm, members of West Division responded to a second assault at Pickering GO Station. A female was travelling on the 8:20 pm eastbound train from Union Station when she was assaulted by the suspect. The victim was able to get to an adjacent cab where a group of citizens waited with the victim for police at Pickering Station. The victim sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Police believe the same suspect is involved in both incidents and are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
The suspect is described as: male, Black, 25-30 years old, medium build, short braided hair, wearing a black and white sweater with the Toronto Raptors logo on the front and right arm, black and grey pants, white and black shoes.
