Suspended, no insurance, no permit… but still driving

DRPS North Division officers reported having caught a motorist (image above) who seems to have had almost no justification for driving on Durham roads.

The person, caught in Port Perry in the Township of Scugog yesterday, was charged for a host of traffic offences, including:

  • Driving with a suspended licence
  • No insurance
  • No validated permit

The motorist’s licence plates were seized, police said.

Doing 150kmh at night on 80kmh road

Night is a time when we may feel no one’s watching, but the eagle-eyed officers of the DRPS Traffic Services were on hand last night to stop a driver merrily speeding away at almost double the limit.

One of our Traffic Services officers observed this vehicle (image below) on Lakeridge Road [on Tuesday night], police said.

The motorist was doing 150kmh in a posted 80kmh zone.

The driver lost his vehicle for 14 days and his licence for 30 days. In addition to stunt, he was also charged with speeding and careless driving, police said.
