Tactical Unit called in for gun and drugs raid

Durham Police yesterday said an investigation has resulted in a gun and drugs being seized in Ajax.

On Tuesday, August 29, members of the Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit concluded an investigation into a male suspect.

With the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit and the Drug Enforcement Unit, the male was arrested while travelling between two addresses in Ajax. Search warrants were executed at both addresses, said a police statement.

The search of one of the residences resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of cocaine, a firearm, multiple rounds of ammunition, and a high-capacity magazine. The total estimated value of drugs seized is approximately $115,000.

Three suspects from Ajax, were charged. Two were held for a bail hearing, while one was released on an undertaking. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
