Teen stabbed multiple times in Oshawa

Durham police have arrested a 45-year-old Oshawa man in connection with a multiple stabbing.

On April 4 at about 6:00 pm, members of Central East Division responded to the area of Memorial Park on Simcoe Street in Oshawa for a stabbing. The suspect was involved in a verbal altercation with a 16-year-old male when it resulted in the teen being stabbed several times, said a police media release.

The teen was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center with serious injuries. The suspect remained on scene and was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, it said.

Micheal Novak, age 45, of Arthur Street in Oshawa, is charged with: Aggravated Assault; Possession of Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
