Thief on BMX smashes shop window with rock, steals weed

Durham Police is asking residents to help solve a crime that took place on October 12 in Courtice in the Municipality of Clarington.

At about 3 am, a man entered the Northern Helm Cannabis Shop located at 1414 Reg Hwy #2 in Courtice (The FreshCo plaza). The male arrived on a red BMX bicycle and threw a rock at the front window of the business, smashing the glass and proceeding to steal numerous items. The male was wearing a distinctive Tommy Hilfiger zip-up hooded sweatshirt, said a police statement.

He is described as: Male, early 20’s, thin build, riding a red BMX bicycle, wearing dark shoes, dark pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt with hood up and an unzipped dark coloured Tommy Hilfiger hooded sweatshirt.

Police are appealing to any witnesses who may know the identity of the suspect. Please contact D/Cst Barr #3165 of East Division with any information at 905-579-1520 x 1611.
