Three 12-14 year olds robbed while fishing in Whitby creek

Durham Police officers have arrested one suspect and are looking for a second after three males, ranging in ages of 12 to 14 years old were robbed during a street-level robbery in Whitby.

On Monday, April 18 at about 2 pm, members from Central West Division responded to a street-level robbery in the area of Manning Road and Garden Street. The victims were fishing in the Pringle Creek park area when they were approached by two males. The males threatened harmed to the young victims and demanded their cellphones. The victims handed over the cellphones and the suspects then fled in a vehicle. Police conducted a canvass of the area and with the assistance of the public were able to arrest one of the males responsible, said a police statement.

A suspect from Whitby is charged with: Robbery x3. He was release on an Undertaking. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
