Durham Police said that a male is facing charges after an investigation led to firearms and drug possession in Ajax.
In November, officers say that investigators from the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) began an investigation into a male believed to be in possession of a firearm and involved in trafficking females.
On Wednesday, December 11, members of the HTU, with the assistance of the Robbery Unit, arrested the suspect and executed search warrants in Ajax. A search of the suspect located a loaded handgun in his front waistband. Two additional loaded handguns, a quantity of drugs, and numerous electronics were located during the search warrants, police said.
A 35-year-old male from Ajax was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Human Trafficking Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5600.
