Three try to flee in stolen car after ramming cruiser

Durham police officers located a stolen vehicle and arrested three suspects as they attempted to flee from police in Pickering on Sunday morning.

On March 29 at about 3:20 am, members of West Division located a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas parked in a gas station on Kingston Road in Pickering with three occupants sleeping inside. As officers attempted to investigate the occupants, the driver attempted to flee by ramming one of the police vehicles. The vehicle was stopped by other police vehicles and the three suspects were eventually arrested. The vehicle was seized as it was reported to have been stolen from Brampton, said a police statement.

Rajdeep, Sidhu, age 33, of Buckland Way in Brampton is charged with: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000; Obstruct Police and Resist Arrest.

Jashandeep Lakhesar age 24, of Matisse Place in Mississauga is charged with: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 and Resist Arrest.

Sanjog, Jassal, age 28, of Dusk Drive in Brampton is charged with: Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000; Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Drug; Obstruct Police and Resist Arrest.

They were later released on Undertakings.
