Traffic Alert: Lane closures in Oshawa, Pickering

The Works Depart of the Regional Municipality of Durham, has announced lane restrictions on Bayly Street, at the Begley Street intersection in Pickering for today.

  • When: November 27
  • Where: One eastbound lane on Bayly Street will be closed at the Begley Street intersection in the City of Pickering.
  • Why: Ongoing work to repair a watermain break.

Meanwhile, the City of Pickering has announced that some lanes and sidewalks will be closed for upcoming events such as the Tree Lighting & Fireworks Event and Christmas Market Event in Esplanade Park.

Thursday, November 28 – 7:00 am to Saturday, November 30 11:59 pm

Temporary Sidewalk Closure – The Esplanade South – will be closed from Valley Farm Road to Glenanna Road

Pickering Civic Complex Parking Lot (off The Esplanade South) – Full Closure

Friday, November 29 – 7:00 am to Saturday, November 30 – 11:59 pm

Temporary Road Closure – The Esplanade South – will be closed from Valley Farm Road to Glenanna Road

Temporary Road Closure – The Esplanade North – will be closed from Valley Farm Road to the Civic Complex underground parking lot entrance

Temporary accessible parking will be available on both sides of The Esplanade North from Glenanna Road to the Pickering Civic Complex underground parking lot entrance and on the north side on a portion of Diefenbaker Court.

For the Christmas Market, the city is enacting temporary closures on The Esplanade North and The Esplanade South.

Friday, November 29 – 7:00 am to Saturday, November 30 – midnight

Emergency service vehicles will have access at all times.

Bloor Street West in Oshawa

There will also be lane restrictions on Bloor Street West (Regional Road 22) in Oshawa.

When: December 2 to 13.

Where: Eastbound and Westbound on Bloor Street West, from 75 metres west of Oxford Street to 50 metres east of Oxford Street, in the City of Oshawa.

Why: To install water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer services in support of new development.
