Traffic Alert: Lane restrictions across Durham

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Adelaide Avenue West (Regional Road 58) in the City of Oshawa.

  • When: May 25 to June 18. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: Adelaide Avenue West from Severn Street to Thornton Road North, in the City of Oshawa.
  • Why: To safely construct water and sanitary services to support new development.

Townline Road North in Oshawa/Clarington

The Regional Municipality of Durham is also advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions and road closures on Townline Road North on the border of the City of Oshawa and the Municipality of Clarington’s community of Courtice.

  • When: May 12 to May 31. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
  • Where: Lane restrictions on Townline Road North (Regional Road 55) from Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) to Coldstream Drive, on the border of Oshawa and Courtice.
  • Why: To complete construction and installation of sanitary sewers and watermains.

Note: Townline Road will be closed to through traffic in four stages throughout the year between Beatrice Street East to Coldstream Drive. Access for local traffic and emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the project. Further advanced notice will be provided to confirm closure dates and detour routes.

Traffic detour signs will be posted in advance of the closure. Businesses in the area will remain open throughout the construction.
