Traffic Alert: Thickson restrictions, road closures in Oshawa

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced lane restrictions at Thickson Road in Whitby, while the City of Oshawa said several of its roads will be closed for an event.

The Whitby lane restrictions will be at the intersection of Thickson Road South (Regional Road 26) and Dundas Street East.

It starts overnight on May 28 and continues till June 2. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

The lane restrictions are in place to safely resurface the road.

Oshawa Road Closures

The City of Oshawa said on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday June 7, from 6 am Saturday until 5 pm Sunday some roads will be open to local traffic only.

This is to support the 22nd annual City of Oshawa Peony Festival, at the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens

The closure will take place on Elgin Street from Park Road to Arena Street, Colborne Street from Park Road to Arena Street, Punshone Avenue from Park Road to Gladstone Avenue, Warren Avenue from Bond Streeet to Elgin Street and Gladstone Avenue from Bond Street to Arena Street.
