Two distressed paddle-boarders rescued

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday evening swung into action to rescue two persons from Lake Ontario as light was fast fading.

Two distressed paddle-boarders on Lake Ontario in Pickering area called DRPS at 9:23 pm last night, police said.

Air-1 and Martine Unit located them, rescued them, and transported them to safety, DRPS said adding when on the water please follow all safety guidelines.

No further information was released.

Durham Regional Police officers have been out on the roadways and waterways to make sure everyone is safe this holiday weekend.
