Two drivers seriously injured in head-on Uxbridge crash

A 44-year-old driver and a 21-year-old driver were seriously injured following a two vehicle collision in Uxbridge.

On August 31 at around 11:06 am, members of North Division were called to Ashworth Road and Uxbridge Concession Road 4 for a two-vehicle head on collision.

A 2011 Chevrolet Cruze being operated by a 21-year-old driver was travelling eastbound on Ashworth Road when it collided head on with a westbound 2013 Honda Civic being operated by a 44-year-old driver, said a police report.

The driver of the Honda Civic was airlifted from the scene to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was transported a local hospital, and later transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries, it added.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit were called and the roadway was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.
