Two face first degree murder charge for homicide

Durham Police investigators have made arrests in relation to the sixth homicide of 2019 in Durham Region.

On August 1, 2019, at about 11:55 pm, members of Central East Division were called to a townhouse complex on Pentland Street in Oshawa after several shots were fired. An 18-year-old male, Devon Patten was located with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ramanujan Ratnavel, age 22, of Toronto and an 18-year-old male of Toronto who was 16-years-old at the time of the offence are charged with First Degree Murder.
