Two held in downtown Oshawa shooting case

Durham Police investigators have arrested two suspects in a shooting investigation that took place in downtown Oshawa on September 9.

On  September 9 at about 11:50 am, members of Central East Division responded to a shooting at the intersection of Ritson Road North and Bond Street East. Officers arrived on scene and located a 25-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

On October 1, investigators arrested a 34-year-old male in Barrie and on Wednesday, October 6, they arrested a 36-year-old male in Woodbridge.

Dana Williams, age 34, and Jermaine Weekes, age 36, both of Ajax are charged with: Attempt Murder, Aggravated Assault, Discharge Firearm with Intent and Possession of a Restricted/Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition. They were held for bail hearings.
